DESCENDANCE

Descendance preserves and promotes Aboriginal culture. We represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers from many diverse tribes. Descendance has both traditional and contemporary performance.

Since 1993 when they were know as the Ngaru Dancers, to 2004 as Descendance, the troupe has completed over three hundred and fifty of the worlds top international conventions and major corporate events held in Sydney.

They have performed for international dignitaries in every possible field. They have not missed one show and delivered on every occasion, leading to the group obtaining a prestigious international reputation. Their culture has taken them to all parts of the world, across Asia, through Europe and into the America's. During the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000, the Descendance Network was booked solidly everyday (day and night) at various events around Sydney, showing the world the true spirit of Indigenous performance.

Ngaru / Descendance have worked in movies, theatre, TV, radio, community work, cultural centres, festivals, recording, education institutions, jails, and countless corporate, convention and political events.
