HOT MAMBO

BASED: BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

Since 1999, Hot Mambo have been performing  traditiona l, contempora ry and original Latin music at festivals and major events in the known universe. Their repertoire features rhythms from Cuba, Columbia and Brazil, ranging from the fiery salsa through to cool and sexy samba. The mix is well seasoned with funky grooves and the popular songs of Gloria Estefan, Carlos Santana, Sergio Mendes and Tito Puente, and chartbuste rs given a latin treatment.
Having studied traditiona l music in Cuba, lead singer Wendy Murray interprets  the songs with authentici ty and passion. The jazz background  of band members is their secret ingredient . The result is a polished, cohesive and dynamic performanc e.
Hot Mambo has performed in every setting from intimate formal functions to major festival stages. 

 

HOT MAMBO is a 10 piece Latin Dance Band that plays an exciting mix of Latin music from the hot pounding rhythms of Cuban and Columbian Salsa to the cool strains of Brazilian Samba.

Hits from Gloria Estefan, Sergio Mendes, Carlos Santana and Tito Puente will make for an unforgettable party. Hot Mambo promises to make it impossible to sit still. They play music for dancing and partying – the best loved latin classics, cool, funky samba grooves and jazzy, sassy salsa. The mix is seasoned with funk and jazz elements and comes alive with the Mambo’s original compositions.
Hot Mambo cook up a steamy tropical feast for the senses and gets that blood pumping.
Hot Mambo’s live Show “Feed the Fire” is visually spectacular … choreographed by Carlos Galiano and Elli Torres Queensland’s own superb salsa dancers.
