AUSTRALIA'S LEADING SUPPLIER OF CORPORATE AND SPECIAL EVENT ENTERTAINMENT
BASED: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Whirlwind is the only way to describe Jennifer Hawkins’ life since being crowned Miss Universe 2004. Jennifer won the coveted title in front of a capacity crowd in Quito, Ecuador, and before an estimated worldwide viewing audience of 800 million people. The then 20-year-old had only recently moved to Sydney Australia from her hometown of Newcastle to pursue a modelling career.
Having never left Australia, Jennifer was excited to travel to Ecuador for three weeks of touring and competition as Miss Australia in the MISS UNIVERSE® Pageant. She had no idea just how dramatically her life was about to change.
The night of June 1st is still “a complete blur” says the beautiful, blue-eyed, blonde. “I was in such a state of shock all I wanted to do was call my Mum and Dad.” Hawkins is the youngest of four siblings and was raised by her parents Gail and Robert in Newcastle, Australia.
Performing has been a life-long dream for Jennifer. A ballet dancer & netball player since the age of five, the years that followed, Jennifer has turned her ‘agility’ on the stage into ‘ability’ on the water! She says she loves all water sports and heads to the beaches of Newcastle whenever she can.
Not 24 hours after her crowning, Jennifer packed her bags and immediately moved to her new home a luxury Trump Place apartment in New York City. New York was home base for Jennifer as she travelled the world from South East Asia, China and India to South America, North America and Europe, speaking at events as reigning Miss Universe and ambassador for organizations focusing on HIV and AIDS awareness. Within weeks of being crowned Jennifer spoke to a crowd of more than 18,000 people when she appeared onstage with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and world famous actor and activist, Richard Gere at the 2004 World AIDS Summit in Bangkok Thailand.
In 2006, Jennifer has achieved many of her professional goals since her crowning. In 2004, Jennifer signed on as the new host of the popular television travel program The Great Outdoors on Channel Seven in Australia and also inked a deal with PEPSI as a spokesperson for their products in Australia.
After crowning her successor on May 30th, 2005 in Bangkok Thailand, Jennifer returned to Australia and was snapped up by the international brand LUX as its face for Australia and New Zealand – following in the famous footsteps of Sarah Jessica Parker, Gisele and Linda Evangelista to name only a few. This arrangement finished in 2007.
In 2005, Jennifer was appointed as the spokesperson for a new multimillion dollar 5 star residential property development in Hong Kong for Henderson Land Group – known as the GRAND WATERFRONT. The major television campaign featured throughout Hong Kong and southern China – further proof of Jennifer’s global appeal!
In 2006, Jennifer signed with highly respected underwear brand LOVABLE which included Jennifer being involved in the design process, being the face of their television and print campaigns as well as many public appearances including one at Westfield Parramatta before more than 3,500 screaming fans. Jennifer’s relationship with the LOVABLE brand is still going strong.
Shortly after signing the LOVABLE deal, international cosmetics brand COVERGIRL came to Jennifer with an exciting proposal for her to become the first Australian face used by the iconic cosmetics brand.
Later in 2006, Jennifer’s television presenting talents were acknowledged when she was nominated for Most Popular New Female Talent at the 2006 LOGIES for her work with The Great Outdoors.
2007 saw the emergence of Jennifer Hawkins the businesswoman when it was announced that she would become the face of Australia’s biggest retailer, MYER, in a 4 year multi-million dollar deal which would set a record as the biggest modelling deal ever done for an Australian based model. The record deal also included equity in the MYER company which would not only make Jennifer the marketing face of the company but also a major shareholder.
In late 2007, Jennifer approached MYER about broadening their relationship to include her own brand of swimwear. MYER leapt at the opportunity and 8 months later “COZI by Jennifer Hawkins” was launched to much fanfare and excitement. 7 years on, Jennifer’s hands-on approach has rewarded her with a multi-million dollar business that has established itself as one of the most recognised labels on the Australian swimwear circuit.
Jennifer returned to television in 2008 to host the debut season of Australia’s Make Me a Supermodel, which sourced two of the country’s most sought after models, series winner, Rhys Ulrich, and runner-up, Shanina Sheik, now a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
In 2011, Jennifer joined Channel Nine’s Getaway team as a special guest reporter filing stories from the United States, Tahiti and England.
As part of her ever-expanding business empire, in 2013 Jennifer also launched JBRONZE, a self tanning range two years in the making to develop the perfect tan. On hitting stores, the products were a sell out, receiving immediate high praise from both media and consumers, reinforcing Jennifer as a respected businesswoman and entrepreneur.
It wasn’t all business for Jennifer in 2013. Amongst an intimate crowd of family and close friends, Jennifer and long time partner, Jake Wall, exchanged vows at the remote Semara Resort in Bali’s Uluwatu region. The couple spent a week on the Indonesian Island with extended family, afterward jet setting to Paris and the Maldives to celebrate their new nuptials.
Jennifer has signed some of Australia’s most lucrative commercial contracts and in addition to MYER and LOVABLE, is the Face of MT FRANKLIN LIGHTLY SPARKLING, BIOGLAN vitamins and REDWIN skincare. Jennifer is also an ambassador for RANGE ROVER. Jennifer’s business interests also extend to property, an ongoing passion of hers. With a strong portfolio already established, Jennifer and husband Jake Wall completed their first property design project in 2012, a cliff-top house in Sydney’s Northern Beaches which together they designed and built and have since started on a second waterfront property.
Jennifer has graced the covers of many popular magazines such as Australia’s leading women’s magazine, Australian Women’s Weekly as well as fashion bible Harpers Bazaar, marie claire, Cosmopolitan and Cleo as well popular men’s magazines Men’s Style, Maxim and FHM in both Australia and France.
Aware of her public responsibilities, Jennifer has donated her time and personal items for auction on many occasions for many worthwhile charities including Sydney Cancer Foundation, The Sydney Children’s Hospital, Canteen and Make-a-Wish Foundation as well as being a patron for HCRF (Hunter Children’s Research Foundation).
In 2008 Jennifer Hawkins was offered a deal with Nine Network to present and field report for the new travel show named Holidays for Sale.
Also in 2008 she landed a contract for one year to be the official ambassador for the cellular network Vodaphone and a 3 year modeling contract with Speedo, one of the largest swimwear brands in the world. In 2009 Jennifer Hawkins landed a spot on the documentary Next Wave, and two TV movies, the first being Australia Unites: The Victorian Bushfire Appeal, and the second named the MTV Australia Awards 2009.
