Mark Skaife - MC's & Hosts

Racing veteran Mark Skaife has an enviable reputation surrounded with success.

Mark's racing career began in karts in 1981 before progressing to racing car activities that began in 1984 at the age of 17.

In 1987 he began a long association with Gibson Motorsport, which resulted in two Touring Car Championships, two Bathurst wins and three Australian Drivers titles in open wheelers.

Mark joined HRT in 1997 and stamped his sheer dominance on the touring car series, winning the Australian Touring Car Championship in 2000, 2001 and 2002 as well as winning the prestigious Bathurst 1000 in 2001, 2002 and 2005.

Mark is possibly the busiest professional racing car driver off the track, with a heavy schedule that includes being part of HSV's Product Development Committee as well as being involved with track design and safety. Mark also had considerable input in the design of the new Canberra street circuit.

A perfectionist, Mark is dedicated to obtaining the optimum out of a racing Commodore, working constantly with his data and engineering people at the workshop, during testing and at race meetings to ensure his Holden Racing Team VZ Commodore is always competitive.
