Soundproofed is a female fronted Party Band that has been making its mark on the Sydney live music scene since 2008. A versatile band that is well suited to intimate venues through to large capacity shows.
Soundproofed’s song choice reflects the best loved Pop and Rock anthems from the 80’s through to now. Soundproofed always deliver a great show that punters love. They pride themselves on being easy to work with and their love of live music is always apparent in any of their shows. Soundproofed are:- Lo – Lead Vox
Lo is the front of Soundproofed. She has a range of experience, but her main love is to channel the inner rock chick. She
cut her teeth in the band Bats and Spiders, when party bands were at a peak, and then moved into the Corporate band circuit with Rapture. Lo spent a couple of years recording the musical “Alison” and is now back to doing what she loves the most. Nothing is too difficult for Lo and she, with the rest of the band members, have worked hard to bring Soundproofed to where it is today. One of Sydney’s prominent party bands. Lo prides herself on her lack of “divaness” and will tackle any song. Look out for her rendition of Adele’s “Rolling in the deep” or for a change her brutal take on Alanis Morrsette's “You Oughta know” Col Booth – Lead Guitar, Vox
Col is the guitar sound of Soundproofed. He is a dynamic and powerful guitarist, with an easy going personality. For many years Col has played in various cover and tribute bands across Sydney. None more powerful and popular than ‘The Midnight Oil Show’ and more recently ‘Throwing Copper the LiVE Tribute Show’. Col now brings his intricate and dynamic rock style to the Soundproofed family. Just like a true ‘Soundie’, Col just loves to play music and loves his Aussie Rock. Keep an ear out for his mind blowing rendition of Baby Animals’ Early Warning and roaring Run To Paradise solo.
Leon Gower – Bass, Vox
Leon is the pulsating beat that drives the rock and pop bottom end of Soundproofed. A multi-instrumentalist in his own right, Leon powers the rhythm section with our drummer, Phil. Not shy of stepping up to the mic for a lead vocal, his rendition of White Wedding will leave you speechless. Leon also creates most of the vocal harmony that builds the band’s overall sound. Leon’s musical background is vast, and he like Lo, spent many years in the Covers and Originals circuit. The best moment by far is the bass in Alanis Morisette’s “You Oughta Know”. Phil Pender – Drums, Vox
Phil (aka DJ Metaphisto) has been the beat powering multiple Sydney cover and original bands over the past 30 years. Phil plays drums and guitar, sings lead and backing vocals, teaches drums and music theory and has contributed his songwriting skills to various original and recording projects. Phil has played everything from dinner music, 60′s classics, blues and metal in his long career, but ultimately loves the power of rock. Phil and Lo played together in the band “Bats and Spiders” and have very fond memories of the party band era. Phil also lends a hand in the vocals area. His main strength, the Aussie anthem. Hear him do justice to Screaming Jets “Better” or The Angels “No Secrets”. Phil is the foundation of Soundproofed. Mary Blake – Keytar, Vox
Mary comes to Soundproofed with a wealth of musical experience. Trained classically, Mary cut her teeth on many all girl bands during the 80's and 90's. She is no stranger to the Sphere Organization as she spent some time in the Spice Girls Show and Women Of Rock. Mary uses her classical training and her love of Rock and Pop music to create our keyboard sound, and what better way to do it than with a keytar. Mary also provides the female backing vocals. Hear her do justice to the "Sweet" sounds of "Sweet Home Alabama" or Lenny Kravitz's "Are you Gonna Go My Way",or for one of our more recent songs "Titanium" by Sia and David Guetta.
