Jackie began her comedy career in the early 1990’s at the Sydney Comedy Store and the Harold Park Hotel, an Australian comedy institution and the training ground for many of today’s most loved and respected comedians. Since then, Jackie’s career and reputation as one of Australia’s finest working comics has gone from strength to strength.

2006 was a huge year for Jackie. First, Jackie performed in ‘Girlfest’, where she was described by the producer as being “so fantastic I had no choice but to bring her back for Girlfest 2007’”

And the laughs didn’t stop there. Jackie toured the United Kingdom with sell-out shows, followed by a season in the South African Vodacom Funny Festival. Not only was she the only Australian selected to perform at this event, she was then labelled “pick of the festival” by the Cape Times newspaper.

During this period Jackie was invited to perform in Just For The Pitching, a section of the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival where five participants get to pitch their idea for a television series to the executive producers of all the major networks. As only the second Australian ever to be given this opportunity, this was a great accolade. Jackie’s short film ‘Drought’ was also a finalist at this year’s Comedy Channel Short Film Festival with screenings across Australia.

A seasoned performer, in the last year alone Jackie has appeared on Stand-Up Australia, The World Stands Up for Paramount Television (UK), Joker Poker and appearances on both the local and international Comedy Festival circuit.

In 2005 Jackie was selected by ‘The Friends of NIDA’ to appear in an Australian comedy showcase in New York City, along with fellow Australian comedians Adam Hills, James Smith and Will Anderson at the highly revered New York venue, ‘Joes Pub’.
